Mandatory Reporting - Management Policy #20

By law, The Arc personnel including all staff, volunteers, and interns are required to immediately report all suspected cases of abuse of a child or vulnerable adult.

As a mandated reporter, you must call Child Protective Services (CPS) directly to make a report whenever there is reasonable cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse, neglect, or abandonment.  If there is reasonable cause to believe that a vulnerable adult has suffered abuse or neglect, you are required to contact APS (Adult Protective Services) directly to make a report.

In both situations, you are required to file a CPS or APS report with EACH incident of suspected abuse or neglect.

If you suspect a crime occurred, such as sexual abuse, or a potential life-threatening situation, you must contact law enforcement directly.

At anytime today did you suspect that a crime or abuse of a client occurred, such as sexual abuse, or a potential life-threatening situation
